Wood-Carved Icon of the Virgin Mary

Description

This icon is handcrafted from linden wood and impresses with its elegant oval shape, which lends it a sense of softness and completeness. It depicts one of the most ancient and venerated images of the Virgin Mary—gently holding the Christ Child in her left arm, while her right hand rests upon her chest in a gesture of love and devotion.

The Virgin Mary is revered as the protector of women, motherhood, and family harmony, the guardian of children, and the helper of those who long for a child. For this reason, the icon is a blessed gift for a name day, birthday, wedding, baptism, the birth of a child, or the consecration of a home—an elegant yet powerful gesture of wishing health, protection, and happiness. The icon is not pre-blessed, as it is considered most appropriate for the blessing to be performed personally according to the specific occasion. Each icon is an original handmade creation and comes with a certificate. It is not considered a cultural monument and may therefore be freely taken outside the country. Upon request, we can engrave a personal dedication or prayer on the back through our additional laser engraving service.
