Wood-Carved Icon of Saint Mina in an Oval Shape

Description

This icon is handcrafted from linden wood and stands out with its elegant oval shape, which lends the image a sense of softness and completeness. It depicts Saint Mina the Great Martyr of Kotuansk – one of the most revered protectors of the home and family. Born in Egypt and living during the 3rd–4th century, he abandoned his military path to devote himself to deep faith and hermitage in the desert. He is believed to have performed numerous miracles and to have died a martyr’s death in the name of the Christian faith. His feast is celebrated on November 11, a day when many people offer prayers for protection, health, and the fulfillment of heartfelt wishes.

Saint Mina is honored as a guardian of families, travelers, the homeless, solitary women, orphans, women longing for a child, as well as healers and herbalists. The icon carries a sense of spiritual support and grace, and its presence in the home is associated with peace, health, and prosperity. It makes a wonderful gift for a wedding, a new home, a doctor, a family, or anyone who dreams of having a child—a thoughtful, symbolic, and blessed gesture.

The icon is not pre-blessed, as it is considered most appropriate for the blessing to be performed personally according to the specific occasion. Each icon is an original handmade creation and comes with a certificate. It is not classified as a cultural monument and can therefore be freely taken outside the country. Upon request, we can engrave a prayer or personal dedication on the back through our additional laser engraving service, making the icon an even more meaningful and personalized gift.
